Beyond Blogging with Kim

Spreading Aloha, inspiring and sharing with you, is one of  the main purposes, and missions of this blog.  Therefore, I have decided to begin a series, Beyond Blogging.

In this series, I will share with you exclusive interviews of bloggers and entrepreneurs in our community.

Please, allow me, to introduce to you,  Kim Seghers.  Kim is well known in the blogging community, as This Ole Mom.
Kim of This Ole Mom & her son

Kim is a wonderful, kind person, who over the last year I have had the pleasure to get to know.  I had the opportunity to interview Kim, and wanted to highlight Kim as the first in the series, Beyond Blogging.  I hope you enjoy learning about Kim, as much as I enjoyed interviewing her.

LG:  Kim, please tell us more about you!

Kim:   I was born, and raised, in New Orleans, Louisiana.   I am married, and have three children, ages 21, 18, and 5.

LG: When did you begin your blogging journey?  What prompted you to start a blog?

Kim:    I started blogging in September of 2013, after my husband's accident. This Ole Mom is my first and only blog.

I was going through a rough time, and needed an outlet.   I quickly fell in love with blogging, social media,  and all the wonderful people I have met.   The rest is history!

LG:  How would you describe This Ole Mom, to someone who is not familiar with your blog?

Kim:  My blog is about Family.   It's a place I created, to share recipes, crafts, and the things I love doing, with or for my family.   My hope is, I inspire others to do the same.

LG:   Kim, please share with us, some of your favorite things...

Kim:   Well,  being from South Louisiana I guess I should say my favorite food is Cajun food , but it's not! My favorite food is Korean.

My favorite color is yellow because it's so bright and cheery.

My favorite flower would be petite roses.

My favorite television show would be Revenge, and  favorite song would be Perfect by Pink.

LG:   What are your hobbies?

Kim:  Crafting, baking, and gardening.

LG:   If you could travel to anywhere in the world , where would you go and why?

Kim:  If I could travel anywhere, it would be to Spain, to trace my ancestors .

LG:  Share with us, 5 things on your bucket list.

  • Take my son to Disney World.
  •  Jump out of a plane.
  •  Learn how to play the piano.
  •  Go to a Cowboy Ranch , and be part of a cattle drive.
  •  Go to Maine, spend a day on a Lobster Boat, and visit fish markets.

LG:  Of course, Kim...  We can't leave out the million dollar question!  What would you do with a million dollars?

Kim:  If I had a million dollars, I would help out some of my family members.  I would make a donation to the Shriners; because of them, I walk.

Isn't Kim such a sweetheart?  What's not to love about this wonderful lady!

It wouldn't be a complete interview, without asking Kim a few questions about blogging!  Kim is a very successful blogger and I look to her as an expert on this subject.  She has written several articles about blogging, visit her blog to gather some great information and tips.

I asked Kim what advice she has for someone new to blogging.  This is what she had to say:

"My advice to a new blogger...  when you first start out it may not be as easy as you thought, but  don't give up.  Reach out to bloggers, that have been blogging for a while, ask questions or advice.   Join networking groups and communities.   Just be yourself, and have fun!" ~Kim

If you would like to get to know Kim even better, you can subscribe to her blog, This Ole Mom or follow on Bloglovin.

You will also find Kim hanging out on FacebookTwitter, Google + and Instagram.  For inspiration, diy projects, crafts and recipes, be sure to follow Kim's Pinterest Boards!

Thank you Kim, for allowing me the opportunity of an interview.  It was both an honor and a pleasure.  May I add, I am blessed to have connected with you.  My only regret is, we weren't able to conduct the interview in person.

Until next time...

           Enjoy Life!

    ~Limeade Gal

  1. Ooooh, I think I'm going to love this series! 'This Ol Mom' is a name I am familiar with in the social media scene, but it was so neat to match a face to the online personality that I'm used to seeing.
