Slow~Cooker Pulled Pork

Slow~Cooker Pulled Pork

One of my favorite ways to cook, is with a slow-cooker.  It's  wonderful to come home from work, and walk in the front door to the savory aroma of dinner.  I also like to prepare a meal with this method, on the weekend, when I know we will have a busy day with errands, gardening, home-improvement projects, and the list goes on...

This recipe for Slow-Cooker Pulled Pork is so simple to make, you can literally put it together before you head out the door.

Here is what you will need:

3 lbs Boneless Pork Rib Roast
1/2 Cup Apple Cider Vinegar
1/3 Cup Molasses
1/4 tsp Black Pepper
1/4 tsp Sea Salt (Fine)
18 oz. Bottle of BBQ Sauce

Place roast in slow cooker, pour vinegar and molasses over roast.  Sprinkle pepper and salt on meat.  Slow cook on low heat for 7 hours.

Remove liquid from slow cooker, pull the pork roast with two forks, until shredded to your liking.  Add 18 oz bottle of Honey BBQ Sauce to slow cooker, coat meat well, replace lid and cook on low for 1 hour.

Serve with sides of your choice, with or without rolls.  Enjoy!

On a side note, I served Baked Cheddar & Rotini and a dinner salad.

I love this recipe, it's quick and easy, adapts as a gluten-free meal, and gives you the option to select which flavor bbq sauce you like .  I prepared the recipe with gluten-free products and my favorite Honey BBQ Sauce.

What is your favorite bbq sauce?  What sides do you enjoy with your pulled pork?  Would love to hear from you in the comments.

Until next time...

         Enjoy Life!

  8. My husband loves pulled pork and I've been meaning to make it for him. Do you think I could make this without a slow cooker??

    1. Hi Tara! You could make it in the oven in a covered roaster on very low heat 200℉ which is about the same temperature as a slow cooker. Hope you and your hubby enjoy the recipe! Let me know how it goes with the oven method.
