Easy Tricolored Layered Mochi

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which holds a special place in my heart.  I have both family and friends who have been touched by this disease.

This year I wanted to create a recipe in honor of those struggling with breast cancer, survivors of breast cancer, loved ones we have lost, and all the friends and family who are affected by this disease.

The recipe I'm sharing is a Japanese dessert or sweet treat, that is prepared for celebrations, parties or to gift giving.

I was relaxing, watching the Big Bang Theory when I got a hankering for something sweet!  It's not very often that I have a sweet tooth, I'm more of a salty, savory snacker.  When I do get a sweet tooth, it's pretty fierce!

So I searched the cupboard looking for that perfect snack...

After a few minutes of searching, I was coming up empty handed.   At this point, my sweet tooth was becoming increasingly fierce.
